Boris Curto

I was born in the autumn of 1967 in Milano. I live and work between Paris, Milan and Berlin. As professional photographer and photo journalist I started working in 1994 reporting from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Corea as a freelancer for Newsweek magazine covering the most relevant political and social changes occurred in the Far East during a decade.
After this unbelivable on-the-field experience, I started a new artistic life being focused on people. In this new dimension, I'm exploring all sides and shades of human life, from social diseases to urban life, following personal history of many individuals.

I didn't care about exhibitions or selling my works during the last 5 years, even if in the past I attended Art Basel Miami fair, I exhibited my works at La Maison Européenne de la Photographie and at le Palais the Tokyo in Paris, and at Les Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie in Arles.
During last years a relevant quantity of works of mine are passed from hand to hand among collectors all over the world, sometimes as a gift for their hospitality or just for the pleasure to make happy a good friend. I also published seven photographic books, all of them handcrafted and self-produced in limited editions.
I studied Philosophy of Art at Harvard University and I got a PhD in Aesthetics and Art History at the Tokyo University Of The Arts. I'm memebr of different pro photo association as PPA (US) and AFIP (Italy).

I'm open for significative cooperative experiences proposals on a selective basis due to my frequent travels around the world.
